About TACD:
The Directorate of Art and Culture has four Regional Cultural Centres at Kancheepuram, Thanjavur, Salem and Madurai created in 1997-1998. In 1998-1999 two more Regional Cultural Centres were created, one at Tirunelveli and the other at Tiruchirappalli. The Regional Cultural Centres co-ordinate the cultural activities of the District Art Societies, the District Music Schools and the Jawahar Siruvar Manrams at the District level.
